Kim Kardashian Hacked: Reality Star, Many Others' Financial Information, Photos Leaked

Los Angeles police said they were investigating how the Social Security number, address and a credit report of the police chief ended up on the site. The site also posted the same information about FBI Director Robert Mueller; the bureau said it was aware of the site but declined to say whether it was investigating.
The site also targeted stars such as Beyonce, Ashton Kutcher, Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Info posted about Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did not include credit reports but included addresses and other sensitive information.
Social Security numbers posted on Gibson, Jay-Z and others matched records in public databases.
The site, which bears an Internet suffix originally assigned to the Soviet Union, expanded throughout the day Monday to add entries on Britney Spears, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and others.
It did not state how the information was obtained or why the 11 people targeted on the site were selected, describing the records only as "secret files." A Twitter profile linked to the site and created after its existence was first reported by celebrity website TMZ included an anti-police message in Russian.
Several of the purported credit reports appear to have been generated last week.
Representatives for each person targeted either declined to comment on the accuracy of the information that was posted, or they did not return messages seeking comment.
Los Angeles police Cmdr. Andrew Smith said the LAPD was investigating the posting of Police Chief Charlie Beck's information and would also investigate the posting of info on any celebrities who live in the city and request an inquiry.
He said confidential information on top police officials has been posted online at least twice before.
"People get mad at us, go on the Internet and try to find information about us, and post it all on one site," Smith said.
"The best word I can use to describe it is creepy," he said about the practice known as doxxing. "It's a creepy thing to do."

Judge slams Ohio village's speed cameras

Judge slams Ohio village's speed cameras

In a scathing ruling, a Hamilton County judge ruled that an ordinance allowing this village of 2,000 to install speed cameras is invalid and unenforceable.
Critics have said those cameras, which already have generated about $1.5 million in fines, have more to do with revenue enhancement than safety in this Cincinnati suburb nearly surrounded by the city.

"Elmwood Place is engaged in nothing more than a high-tech game of Three-card Monty," Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Ruehlman wrote in his Thursday decision. "It is a scam the motorist cannot win."
Thirteen states and the District of Columbia have speed cameras operating in at least one location, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association. Ohio has 13 other jurisdictions that use them, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says.

The Price of Marriage in China $fxi

The Price of Marriage in China $fxi

Ms. Yu is another kind of love hunter: a parent seeking a spouse for an adult child in the so-called marriage markets that have popped up in parks across the city. Long rows of graying men and women sat in front of signs listing their children’s qualifications. Hundreds of others trudged by, stopping occasionally to make an inquiry.

How to Find “Good Customers”

How to Find “Good Customers”

"So how can a seller recognize a good customer? If you set out to land good customers as a segment, how do you find them? Here are some of my suggestions for identifying good customers in advance of selling to them, but I’m open to yours, also:
  • A good customer will want to be trustable in the eyes of the seller. That is, the customer will proactively work to protect a seller’s interest – helping the seller avoid making mistakes or overlooking opportunities. So look for companies that already have strong cultures based on trust, such as Toyota. A company that bases its success on earning the trust of its customers will also be concerned with the trust it enjoys from other members of its ecosystem, including not just employees and distributors, but probably suppliers as well.
  • A good customer tries to partner with the sellers it buys from in order to maximize the value it receives from them. Successful partnerships will grow more valuable with tenure, so try to prospect for companies that already have long-term vendor relationships. Such relationships will be harder to dislodge, but once you gain a place at the table it will be worth every penny of sales effort you put into it.
  • A good customer will participate in surveys or studies run by sellers, and offer constructive criticism when appropriate, advising them in advance of improvements, upgrades, or service enhancements that would help them run their own business better, or deliver better value to the customer.
  • And, a good customer will allow a seller to promote best practices or successful policies, agreeing to serve as a reference for a seller to use in acquiring other customers. So if a customer has allowed itself to be featured as a case study by other vendors, that's a good sign."
